Acupuncture is a treatment derived from ancient Chinese medicine. Fine needles are inserted at certain sites in the body for therapeutic or preventative purposes.

Traditional acupuncture is based on the belief that an energy, or "life force", flows through the body in channels called meridians. This life force is known as Qi.

Practitioners who adhere to traditional beliefs about acupuncture believe that when Qi doesn't flow freely through the body, this can cause illness. They also believe acupuncture can restore the flow of Qi, and so restore health.

The needles used are fine, single-use, pre-sterilised needles that are disposed of immediately after use. An acupuncture session usually is about 30 minutes. The needling from our practitioners is painless. You may feel a tingling or a dull ache during the treatment.

ACUPUNCTURE

Through thousands of year’s practice, millions of Chinese people have gotten and are still getting great benefit from Chinese herbs, which are green, natural and effective. Chinese herbs are from plants such as flowers, leaves, stalks, seeds and roots. Every herb is special and each herb has healing properties, which are used for specific purposes and perform a particular function.

The practitioner prescribes a formula rather than individual herbs. Formulas are groups of herbs working together synergistically. A group of herbs is better adapted to deal with a complicated condition. The practitioner prescribes mixed herbs to treat only your condition speicifically, so it is really special and individual care. The practitioner will examine your pulse and your tongue; consult your condition to give you a holistic diagnosis before making a prescription.

ACUPRESSURE

TUINA/ MASSAGE

Acupressure is mostly called ‘Tui Na’ or ‘Chinese Medical Massage’.

It differs from western massage in that finger and palm pressure are applied using a wide range of techniques. Tui Na balances Yin Yang to reset the energy system.

Our highly experienced, qualified Practitioners in Herbmagic Acupuncture Centre will help you with pains such as back pain, shoulder and neck stiffness and pain... sports injuries.

Hot cupping is an ancient Chinese medical therapy in which glass cups are placed on the specific energy points to promote the QI to flow smoothly in meridians (energy channels).

The cups are left on the body whilst the area beneath is treated and the energy is moved. Mild redness might be left on the treated area. That is normal, and will disappear after a few days. It is a safe and natural therapy.

After cupping treatment, there is often a dark mark left on the skin. It may appear reddish, darker, or even purple. It resembles a bruise or abrasion in appearance, but it isn't exactly either of those. The marks should disappear within several days. It shouldn't hurt, and your body's reaction is perfectly normal.

REFLEXOLOGY

Reflexology is sometimes known as Zone Therapy as the body is divided into different zones represented by a point in the foot or hand. Nerve endings are imbedded in feet and hands that then travel to the spinal cord and to various parts of the body. Traditional Chinese Medicine theory believes that stimulating these nerve endings helps to improve circulation, active "Qi" in the body and also promotes relaxation and well-being.

EAR CANDLING

MOXIBUSTION

Moxibustion is an essential part of Traditional Chinese Medicine which uses moxa, a soft woolly substance prepared from mugwort leaves (Artemisia vulgaris). By doing moxibustion the moxa is placed either directly on the skin or held just above it, over specific acupuncture points or meridians. The herb is lit and as it smoulders slowly, a therapeutic heat permeates the skin and affects the flow of "qi" (energy) and blood in the area being treated.

Ear candle helps to revitalize the acupuncture points, stimulate the blood circulation and to free the clogged pores. Ear candle is a delicate and non-invasive method for resolving problems of ear hygiene safely and naturally.
